Happy Valley City Councilor David Golobay to Run for Mayor
Happy Valley, OR — Today, city councilor and family business owner David Golobay announced his intention to run for Mayor of Happy Valley. He is the first candidate to announce since Mayor Lori Chavez-DeRemer announced in March she wouldn’t seek re-election.
“Happy Valley is an incredible place to live. First and foremost, I’m running to protect this incredible gem we call home. We need to ensure Happy Valley continues to be a great place to have fun, raise a family, and start a small business.”, said Golobay.
Golobay continued, “Just like many Happy Valley residents, my family and business struggled through the great recession, but it made our community stronger. Now, I want to help shepherd Happy Valley into the next phase of prosperity.”
Golobay brings significant community experience. He previously served as Vice Chair of the Happy Valley Traffic & Public Safety Committee, Chair of the North Clackamas County Chamber of Commerce, President of the Happy Valley Business Alliance, and Chair of the Multnomah County Business Advisory Council. He currently serves as City Council Liaison to the Happy Valley Library Committee, and is a Board Member of the Clackamas County Business Alliance.
David Golobay was elected to the Happy Valley City Council in 2016. He resides in Happy Valley with his wife of 17 years, Dawn, and their two children, Gabe and Ethan who both attend school within North Clackamas School District.
